LONDON, England – The BBC announced on Tuesday that two additional people had come forward to complain about Russell Brand’s behavior after the channel opened an investigation into the actor and comedian’s actions.

The BBC was providing an update on its probe after four women claimed in September that Brand sexually abused them between 2006 and 2013, at the height of his stardom.

The charges have been refuted by Brand, 48.

From 2006 until 2008, the comedian worked as a BBC radio presenter. The station claimed it received five complaints about Brand, including two people who complained and expressed concerns while he worked there and twice after he departed.

After Brand’s departure, another individual filed a separate complaint, and two more have come forward since the BBC initiated its probe in September.

The substance of the latest charges was not specified in the broadcaster’s statement from Peter Johnston, its director of editorial complaints. However, according to its news page, they are “understood to relate to his workplace conduct, and are not of a serious sexual nature.”

BBC Says 2 More People Have Come Forward To Complain About Russell Brand’s Behavior.

The Times and Sunday Times newspapers, as well as a Channel 4 documentary, published allegations against Brand in September, including claims that he sexually assaulted a woman when she was 16 years old while they were dating. Another woman claims Brand raped her in 2012 in Los Angeles. The accusers have yet to be identified.

In response to allegations made by one of the women that Brand drove her from school to his home when she was 16, the broadcaster stated that it no longer had records of car bookings from the period.

It was stated that investigations are still ongoing.

“Although my work is in no way complete and therefore I cannot yet reach any conclusions, it would appear that no disciplinary action was taken against Russell Brand during his engagement with the BBC in 2006-8 prior to his departure from the BBC,” Johnston said in a statement.

Following the publication of the claims, the Metropolitan Police and Thames Valley Police initiated investigations into Brand.
