(VOR News) – To energize a vital voting group that concerns Democrats due to diminished enthusiasm, Vice President Kamala Harris is introducing a proposal aimed at enhancing economic opportunities and other avenues of success for Black men.
Harris’ plan proposes the establishment of new apprenticeships, eligibility for forgiven business loans for Black entrepreneurs, and research on diseases such as sickle cell that disproportionately affect African American men.

The vice president is endeavoring to galvanize African American men with her purported “opportunity agenda for Black men” during a period when some may opt to refrain from voting for either Kamala Harris or her adversary, Republican former President Donald Trump.
The vice president disclosed the approach before her visit to Erie, Pennsylvania, on Monday, where she was scheduled to participate in a campaign rally and tour a Black-owned small business. Her motivation stems from the assertion made by former President Barack Obama that certain Black men “aren’t embracing the concept of a woman as president,” as he stated last week.
The Kamala Harris campaign has established the organization “Hombres con Kamala Harris” to attract support from various male voter demographics, including Hispanics.
The latest policy alteration is significant as it was declared with the sole intention of motivating Black men to vote shortly before the elections.
Subsequent to the success of her campaign with the “Hombres” organization, Kamala Harris’ team plans to organize activities specifically designed for distinct genders. Included are “Black Men Huddle Up” events, which are celebrity viewing parties for NFL and NCAA football games conducted in battleground states, showcasing African American men.

Black Americans significantly supported Joe Biden during his victory over Trump in 2020. Kamala Harris’ advisors assert that their primary concern is that certain Black men may opt not to vote, rather than the former president experiencing a substantial decline in their support.
Trump has intensified his endeavors to appeal to Latino and Black voters of both genders. He has conducted town halls with Black business proprietors in pivotal states and is slated to engage in one this week, sponsored by Univision in Spanish.
Furthermore, he has often sought to exacerbate racial tensions by asserting that Black and Hispanic Americans are losing employment opportunities to immigrants who are unlawfully entering the nation.
In her latest proposal, Kamala Harris commits to giving one million fully forgivable loans, capped at $20,000 each, to Black entrepreneurs and individuals with innovative company concepts, contingent upon her election.

A recent Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll indicated that approximately seventy percent of Black voters believed Harris had superior leadership compared to Trump on significant policy issues such as the economy, health care, immigration, abortion, and the Israel-Hamas conflict. Black men and Black women provided comparable levels of support for Harris.
