(VOR News) – The AT&T wireless network suffered a security breach at the beginning of this year, resulting in the theft of call and text records belonging to virtually all subscribers.

AT&T has issued a statement indicating that the records that have been hacked contain the telephone numbers of individuals who have communicated with a cellular number that is affiliated with either AT&T or MVNO.

The substance of conversations or texts, personal information such as Social Security numbers and dates of birth, and time stamps of calls or texts are not included in the data, according to AT&T, which has indicated that the data does not include these items.
