Adele wants fans to find another method to show her how much they care when tossing objects onstage.
During one of her Las Vegas residency gigs, the “Easy On Me” singer commented on the new trend of concertgoers throwing things at musicians in the middle of their performances.
“Have you noticed how people are like forgetting f–king show etiquette at the moment?” she asked in a video posted on Twitter. “Everyone is just throwing s–t onstage.” “Did you see them?”
The 35-year-old replied, “I f–king dare you,” when asked how she would react if this happened at one of her gigs. If you hurl something at me, I’ll f–king murder you.”
The remark came as Adele launched a t-shirt into the audience, an irony she quickly pointed out. “‘Stop throwing things at the artist, but you can shoot things into people,'” she joked. “It’s a complete 180.”
“I’ve seen these people,” she remarked as she walked offstage with her t-shirt cannon. “These people have completely lost it.”
Adele’s remarks came after many recent incidents in which concertgoers flung things onstage, including two known instances in which the artist was struck.
Bebe Rexha and Kelsea Ballerini were hit in the middle of their gigs in June when fans threw things onstage. Bebe got a black eye after a phone smacked her in the face, and Kelsea got a bracelet in the eye. In an even crazier incident, a fan dumped their mother’s ashes onstage during Pink’s performance at the British Summer Time Festival on June 25.

Kelsea had to defend herself against critics who labeled her “soft” after speaking out about the shocking incident.
“We all have triggers and layers of fears way deeper than what is shown,” she explained on her Instagram Stories on June 29, “and that’s why I walked offstage to calm down and make sure myself, band and crew, and the crowd all felt safe to continue.”
“That’s all I ever want, is for shows to feel like a haven for us all,” she added. I love you and appreciate your concern; let us make the final two shows of the heart first tour the finest yet.”
Adele isn’t the only musician who has spoken out in favor of her peers. Charlie Puth also took the time to express his opinions on the unexpected concert trend.
“This trend of throwing things at performers while they are on stage must come to an end,” he tweeted on June 29, naming Bebe, Kelsea, and Ava Max as artists who have been targeted. “It’s both disrespectful and dangerous.” Please, I urge you, enjoy the music.”
