Actor Zachary Quinto Called “A Dick” Barred from Toronto Restaurant
Zachary Quinto, the actor who plays Spock in “Star Trek,” will have to live long and prosper without a certain Toronto eatery that claims he is no longer welcome and a dick.
Quinto was a “terrible customer” who “made our host cry and the rest of our brunch diners uncomfortable,” according to a Sunday Instagram post by Manita, a cafe and bar on Ossington Avenue.
“Yelled at our staff like an entitled child after he didn’t reply to texts to inform him his table was ready and refused to believe the empty tables in the dining room weren’t available for him despite being politely informed they were spoken for,” the New York post said.
“Mr. Quinto, take your bad vibes somewhere else, we have many lovely celebrities join us at Manita but you are NOT one of them.”
A Manita official declined to comment on the event, but confirmed to the Star that Quinto has been banned from the restaurant “until we receive an acceptable apology.”
Quinto, who has also been in the television shows “Heroes” and “American Horror Story: Asylum,” did not answer to the Star’s request for comment.

The actor celebrated his 47th birthday on Sunday. According to his Instagram story, he dined at Manita and toured Canada’s Wonderland. It indicates he also visited Paris Paris, a wine bar on Ossington Avenue.
Zachary Quinto is presently filming the NBC medical drama series “Brilliant Minds,” which began shooting in Mississauga in May. The program, based on two novels by renowned scientist Oliver Sacks, will star Zachary Quinto as the charismatic neurologist Oliver Wolf.
On Monday, Manita reposted an Instagram story on its grid.

“Manita is deeply grateful for our mostly incredible, friendly, gracious guests … who may give us constructive feedback from time to time,” the caption stated.
“To all the other Zachary Quinto’s out there, on behalf of restaurant workers everywhere: We aren’t above criticism, but we are above being demeaned.”
Following the incident, Manita’s social media followers responded with overwhelming support.
“Good on you guys for standing up for your staff and patrons,” tweeted @torontoeaters, a local food guide account.
“(G)ood for you, being a ‘celebrity’ shouldn’t strip you of your basic manners and how to treat other human beings,” a different user remarked.
