As discord in the Liberal caucus continues, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is frantically attempting to use abortion to shift the focus away from party descent and develop a compelling message to deliver to Canadians in the upcoming election.

The rebellion has been slow-moving until now, with about 20 MPs publicly demanding the PM’s resignation.

However, this does not hide the large number of Liberal MPs who believe Trudeau is the only one responsible for the party’s impending electoral disaster in October.

By uniting his caucus around some ill-conceived plan to attack Pierre Poilievre and the Conservative Party over abortion, Trudeau expects to put an end to this uprising. Replicating the language of the Harris campaign in the US.

Trudeau has increased his rhetoric, claiming that the Conservatives have a covert plan to outlaw abortion, which they will implement as soon as they take power. An unfounded accusation intended to instill terror in women who back Pierre Poilievre and the Conservative Party.

Unsubstantiated claims

Trudeau made these charges even though the Conservative Party, which held power from 2006 to 2015—including four years in a majority government—never attempted to enact abortion-related legislation.

Additionally, Poilievre has declared his support for abortion to the public. He has often declared that his government will never pass legislation allowing abortion.

Now, Trudeau has declared that he will take tough measures against organizations that provide pregnancy counseling. The justification for this is that they don’t provide abortions.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has accused the Trudeau government of purposefully leaking baseless allegations to the world media to denigrate India and influence other nations.

The MEA stated that this leak simply verifies the Indian government’s long-held views on the current Canadian government’s political objective and behavior pattern.

Canada’s Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister David Morrison told a parliamentary committee that India’s Home Minister Amit Shah had directed the targeting of Khalistani radicals on Canadian soil.

Morrison did not explain how Canada learned of Shah’s suspected involvement to the Parliamentary committee.

On Saturday, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that a representative from the Canadian High Commission to India was summoned on Friday, and a diplomatic note was given over.

“It was conveyed in the note that the Government of India protests in the strongest terms to the absurd and baseless references made to the Union Home Minister of India before the committee by Deputy Minister David Morrison,” Mr. Jaiswal added.

Canada Leaked Information

Canada confessed that its officers leaked sensitive information to the Washington Post, and the Ministry of External Affairs warned that such activities would have “serious consequences” for India-Canada relations.

The Ministry of External Affairs spokeswoman also stated that the Canadian government alerted some of India’s consulate staff that they were under observation, describing it as a “flagrant violation” of diplomatic agreements. He also made it plain that New Delhi regards the conduct as harassment and intimidation.

“The Canadian government recently alerted some of our consulate staff that they have been and will continue to be under audio and video surveillance.

Ties between India and Canada have strained since Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claimed last year, without providing any evidence, that “Indian agents” were involved in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, an allegation that New Delhi has repeatedly denied.
